Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture, and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. Learn more about boarding for our cat patients by requesting a tour of our hospital and meet our caring cat boarding staff.

When the Family is Away, the Cats Will Play During Their Stay With Us!

Taking a vacation can be relaxing for the entire family, even for the cat that prefers not to participate in car rides. Our feline boarding facilities at Charlotte Street Animal Hospital are designed with your cat's needs in mind, giving your beloved cat a comfortable, secure home away from home. Our cat boarding services are available for long and short term boarding while families are traveling, moving, renovating the house, as well as a safe haven for felines to recuperate in comfort after veterinary surgery or an injury.

Feline Boarders at our Animal Hospital are Safe, Secure, Monitored and Comfortable

Cats already have their own entrance and waiting room to our veterinarian clinic that is separate from dogs, and our feline overnight facilities are just as exclusive. Our state-of-the-art facilities are staffed by our highly qualified animal hospital kennel attendants with our veterinarian staff nearby if special attention is required. Cats never want for attention in our facility, as we provide continuous care, regular meals, and any special requirements they may need.

We are a full-service animal hospital, so our staff is trained to notice the first early signs of illness in boarding patients. Should any pet become ill, one of our compassionate and skilled doctors will immediately examine and create a treatment plan for the patient. We will provide updates to family members and do our best to ensure your beloved companion’s comfortable and speedy recovery. In order for us to provide the best possible care during your pet’s stay with us, each boarder must be examined by one of our doctors within the last 12 months, and show proof of a current rabies vaccine.

Cat owners can help our hospital staff by ensuring their cat is up-to-date with us on their annual exam prior to boarding and by filling out the required boarding questionnaire.  This single sheet of paperwork we ask our clients to fill out at the time of check-in proves that the pet's rabies vaccine is up-to-date, alerts us to any special food or medications the pet may require, and lets us know if there are any specific concerns we need to address while your cat is in our compassionate care.  Individual preferences and specified pet schedules help us cater especially to your cat.

Often times a pet owner may be in a rush to leave town while dropping off a pet for boarding.  We understand how preparing for travel can be a stressful time, so to help aid in your planning, we welcome you to download the required boarding form in advance.  To get this form on our website menu, go to Client Information: Downloadable Forms: then choose  Questionnaire for Boarding Pets  to print, fill-out, and bring with you.

Our comfortable and cozy facility lets a cat get out of the stress of travel, especially lengthy car or airplane rides, while providing more supervision and care than the pet would have if left with an interim sitter. Clients are also assured we fully welcome our feline guests, unlike some hotels or other destinations. Our facilities are not only cozy and comfy but they are also escape-proof to foil even the craftiest cat.

Families who are leaving their cat in our facility for the first time might want to start with an overnight stay. Allowing a cat's first, brief stay overnight will give the opportunity to show them their family will in-fact return and also give them a feel for this new environment. No matter how welcoming the environment is, it is still new; a fact that can make some felines wary and uncomfortable.  In our cat boarding room we use Feliway, a calming cat pheromone, to help welcome our boarders.  We use a plug-in diffuser and also spray cat blankets and towels prior to putting them in the cat condos for our friends.  Our mission is to make our boarders feel secure and loved while their family is away, while ensuring confidence with our clients that their pet's care is of the utmost quality.

Clients are also welcome to take a tour of our cat boarding facilities prior to vacation or cat’s veterinary surgery. Our veterinary hospital is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Our staff is happy to answer any further questions about our feline facility, which offers a luxurious vacation for a cat’s very own.
