Charlotte Street Animal Hospital in
Asheville, NC - Veterinary Services
Charlotte Street Animal Hospital in Asheville, NC offers a wide range of veterinary, wellness, and educational services for birds, small mammals, and exotic pets. In business since 1998, our state-of-the-art facility offers separate entrances for dogs and cats as well as cat boarding. Our veterinarians are experienced and posses advanced skills and training in everything from pet chiropractic healing to the care of rare Brazilian parrots.
Charlotte Street Hospital is conveniently located in downtown Asheville and offers veterinary surgery. Spaying and neutering is the most common surgery for cats and dogs but we also perform surgery for a variety of other reasons including hernia repair, mass removal and orthopedic repair. In addition, our veterinarians are trained in veterinary Ophthalmology, Neurology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Oncology and Endocrinology. Ultrasounds, endoscopies and digital x-rays assist our veterinarians with diagnosing and prescribing timely treatments for your pet.
Here at Charlotte Street Hospital pain management and pet physical rehabilitation is a priority during recovery. By using a variety of traditional and alternative methods, we strive to reduce or eliminate any post-surgery or condition-related pain your pet is experiencing. We also have an on-site pharmacy as well as an online pharmacy for your convenience. Additionally we offer alternative care treatments such as pet chiropractic and pet acupuncture services. Chinese medicinal treatments are also available.
Emergency vet services are available anytime our animal hospital is open. We are affiliated with an emergency center that is able to administer emergency vet procedures whenever our clinic is closed. In the case of an accident, our Asheville veterinarians and trained staff will administer emergency vet care. Our emergency services include a mobile resuscitation unit and blood transfusions that can be used for critical care. Healthy pets donate all of the transfused blood and it is carefully screened and tested for diseases.
Our clinic also offers complete pet dentistry. We use safe ultrasonic pet dentistry cleaning tools and polish the teeth to help prevent plaque build-up. Our Asheville veterinarians use a modern dental digital x-ray machine to see if tooth extractions or root canals are necessary. The machine also makes it possible to measure dental bone loss over time.
Our Animal Hospital Promotes Pet Wellness Care, Client Education and Pain-Free Healing
Wellness care starts at birth and extends into old age. Here at Charlotte Street Animal Hospital we give immunizations and offer internal parasite testing and heartworm and flea control programs. Pet wellness also includes nutritional counseling and age-appropriate wellness diagnostic testing. Our Senior Pet Wellness Program incorporates pet chiropractic treatments to help with hereditary problems like hip dysplasia. Pet chiropractic healing combined with pet acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine can also be used to promote the long healthy life of your pet.
Microchipping is available at the clinic using Home Again microchips. Mixed breed dog owners are now able to learn a lot more about their pet using Wisdom Panel Mixed Breed Analysis. With a very quick blood test you will know the breeds and percentages in your dog’s DNA. DNA testing can be very helpful for dealing with breed specific behavioral and medical issues. Pet massage classes and behavioral instruction are offered at our clinic on an ongoing basis and for your convenience we offer cat boarding. Our hospital is proud to be AAHA accredited.
