Traveling with Your Pet
A health certificate is required for you to fly with your pet.
A health certificate is a signed document provided by your veterinarian after a full physical examination has been performed on your pet. The document states your pet is free of communicable diseases and is healthy to fly.
There are two types of health certificates:
Domestic Health Certificate: For flight destinations within the USA. All of the veterinarians at our hospital are accredited to sign a domestic health certificate. Please call us to schedule an appointment.
International Health Certificate (7001 Form): For flight destinations in other countries. All of our veterinarians are accredited to complete International Health Certificates; please call today to schedule an appointment. *Keep in mind, export documents are time sensitive.
EVERY country has its very own specific requirements at the port of entry.
For more information, please visit the USDA website!
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/regulations/vs/iregs/animals/
1. Log on to the USDA (animal export) website above.
2. Choose your country of destination
3. Scroll down to select your pet's species.
*When scheduling your appointment please have your address of destination and your date of travel ready.
The International Health Certificate (7001 Form) and possibly other documents (i.e. European Union forms) MUST be endorsed by the USDA. The USDA requires all documents are signed & dated by a veterinarian AND endorsed by the USDA within 10 days of departure. Please schedule your appointments with us AND with the USDA accordingly.
